HEALTH & SAFETY - Each year, approximately 500 people are killed at work, and several hundred thousand more are injured. Safety in the workplace is crucial for the health and well being of both employees and the public; EHPs have a vital role to play in this. They are mainly concerned with offering advice in promoting safer workplaces to safeguard employees and the public. Law enforcement is also an aspect of the job and if a business fails to properly protect and look after its staff, enforcement action may be taken. | |
